Who we are
Closer Than Words ("we", "us") is operated by Closer Than Words, Vietnam. You can contact us at support@closerthanwords.store.
What this app is
The Closer Than Words app (play.closerthanwords.store, also available as an installed app) lets people who bought our digital conversation card decks play them on their phone or computer.
What information we handle
Purchase details. When you buy a digital deck in our online shop, the shop provides us with the email address used at checkout, your order number and confirmation code, and the name of the digital product you bought. We use this only to unlock the decks you bought.
Sign-in and device information. When you sign in, the app stores a random device identifier and a sign-in token on your device, and records on our server how many devices are signed in (at most two per purchase).
Settings on your device. The app remembers your sound setting, your 18+ confirmation, and your downloaded cards on your own device, using your browser or app storage.
We do not ask for your payment card details in the app. Payments are handled by our online shop provider. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell your information.
How we use it
To let you sign in, to unlock the decks you purchased, to limit each purchase to two devices, and to answer your support requests.
Who processes it for us
Our online shop provider (Shopify), which processes orders, payments and order emails.
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare), which runs the app and stores the card images and the sign-in records.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours.
How long we keep it
We keep your sign-in record for as long as your purchase remains active, or until you ask us to delete it.
Your choices
You can sign out of a device at any time from the app (this frees one of your two device slots).
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you by writing to support@closerthanwords.store. If we delete your sign-in record, you will lose access to your digital decks.
Children and adult content
The app is not directed at children under 13. One deck ("Feelings & Flames") is for adults aged 18 and over, and the app asks you to confirm your age before it opens.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and keep access to purchased decks behind a sign-in. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this page. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
